Wilson Whitetail Ranch & Shooting Preserve (WWR) offers much more that just whitetail deer hunting. Are you searching for a place to go wild Bobwhite Quail hunting? Texas is one of the few remaining places in the world to do this. South Texas hunting gives hunters a venue situated in the heart of the quail habitat, perfect for any quail hunter. If you are real adventurous, we also offer hunting for trophy big game species. These large animals are part of our exotic hunts. Texas is one of the only places in the world that maintains and breeds large trophy game from other continents. The exotic game was brought to South Texas in the 1970's and still exists today. Today, through the efforts of SCI and the EWA, many of these non-native animals are being returned to their native lands, where they were once extinct. Many of these animals do not have closed season and do not require tags or drawing, due to their non-native status. Some of our exotic trophy game are:
- Antelope - Includes Addax, Eland, Black Buck, Kudu, Impala, Niglai, Sable, Waterbuck, Scimitar Horned Oryx, and Gemsbok
- Buffalo - Includes Asian Water Buffalo, North American Buffalo, and Watusi
- Deer - Includes Axis, Elk, Fallow, Pere David, Red Stag, and Sika
- Sheep and Goats - Includes Aoudad, Black Hawaiian Sheep, Catalina, Corsican, 4 Horn (Jacob's Sheep), Mouflon, Ibex, Texas Dall, and Urial
